Rib fabric has raised lines or ribs due to their stretchable properties and is created by alternating purl and knit stitches in a single column aligned perpendicular to the direction of the fabric. Rib fabric is ideal for cuffs and collars and even whole garments can be made from rib fabric and will give you a warm and soft feel.
